BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Legault (London, ON) was born in 1982 in Orangeville Ontario, but grew up in Kincardine. Currently she lives in London, Ontario where she specializes in illustration, acrylic painting, creepy doll making, and photography (often with computer manipulation). In 2005 she painted a hardtail Harley Davidson motorcycle which was later featured on television and in magazines. It went on to win multiple awards all over North America (best in shows and best paint). In 2005 she completed the Steel Canvas Murals airbrushing course at Goodeve Studios in Owen Sound Ontario taught by world renowned airbrush painter Vince Goodeve.


In 2008 she started a publishing and merchandising company under the name ‘The Bird Behind The Mask’ to self publish her comic series, Vincent P. Usher, Twig Boy, Cereal Killers, and This Is What Really Happened. She debuted her comic Vincent P. Usher at 2009’s Fan Expo Horror/Comic/Sci-Fi convention in Toronto, and on Hallowe’en of 2009 she had her first book signing with Chapters/Indigo as a published author/illustrator. The Library of Archives of Ottawa ON, has subsequently asked her to add Vincent P. Usher and Twig Boy into their archives for future generations to enjoy.


Sarah is a resident art doll marker at: Dollirium Art Doll Emporium in London Ontario, Canada. where you can see her dolls on display with other spooky international doll makers year round.


Currently she is writing her first novel titled The Dream Theatre, completing a series of animations for The Bird Behind The Mask while working on the second comic in the Vincent P. Usher and Twig Boy series. She is also doing some work with friend Vincent Marcone from My Pet Skeleton on his next book and animated film project for The Lady Paranorma (where she plays the main character: Lady Paranorma) featuring narration and vocals by musical legend Peter Murphy from Bauhaus which has been receiving praise from film directors such as Guillermo del Toro and Clive Barker. Sarah just had her first role as producer for Canadian ambient/goth band Johnny Hollow for their first music video This Hollow World (in the video you can also see some of her dolls and masks).


To date she has taken part in 20+ art events/exhibitions such as 2004’s Eastern Block Party, 2005’s Incision, and 2006’s In Good Company: The Next Generation of Influences, Square Foot Show; Toronto ON, (2011). Later, she went on to organize large multi-media shows like Asylum (2006) Cirque de la Lune (2006), Grimm (2008), A Curious Collection of Monstrous Tinies (2010) and Stranger! (2011).
